About us

1seesseMy name is Nikola and I am a twenty-six year old guy from Europe. I usually post reviews whenever I get the chance to since I feel like a schedule puts too much pressure. I love reading books and watching TV shows. My favourite books would be The Secret History by Donna Tartt, The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara, The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien, Gather the Daughters by Jennie Melamed, The House of Impossible Beauties by Joseph Cassara, Harry Potter series (even though I read only 5 books) by J.K. Rowling, And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie, We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson, The Book Thief by Markus Zusak and more. My favourite authors would probably be Donna Tartt and Hanya Yanagihara. I just adore their writing so much. The genre that I prefer is Adult (psychological thriller, non-fiction, mystery/thriller, memoirs, science…), but I occasionally read Young Adult novels.  I will answer a few book related questions below:

Bookstores or libraries? I love going to a bookshop and seeing all the new, shiny books. I also love libraries a lot.

How many books do you own? I own 250+ books.

What books do you regret reading? I honestly don’t regret reading any book. I choose my books carefully. I always check the description of the novel and if it interests me I will definitely read it.

How often do you read? I read almost every day, when work/internship starts I usually read less because of stress. But I always try to read more during those stressful periods.

Do you like lengthy books or short ones better? If the novel sounds good, I don’t mind reading a huge book. I love large books but sometimes they intimidate me.

Paperback or hardcover? Both.

Favourite quotes:

“A room without books is like a body without a soul.”  ― Marcus Tullius Cicero

“If you only read the books that everyone else is reading, you can only think what everyone else is thinking.”  ― Haruki Murakami

I’m Elizabeth, and I am twenty years old.  I hail from many places in the United States.  I love stories in any form, but books are my favorite way to get them.  Among my favorite books are The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith, The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki, Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, and many, many more.  My favorite author might have to be Rainbow Rowell because I find her characters to be the most relatable.  I’ve not yet disliked any of her books.  I’ll read anything.  I’ve read mostly Young Adult Fiction, but I love Adult Fiction, too.

Bookstores or libraries? I like to own books, and I especially love shopping in small independent bookstores.  Though, libraries are great resources as well.

How many books do you own? Maybe around 400 books. I haven’t counted in a while.

What books do you regret reading? I don’t regret reading books because I honestly feel everything I read or see changes me as a person.  One book I’ve hated, though, is On The Road by Jack Kerouac.

How often do you read? I try to read everyday, but sometimes life gets in the way unfortunately.

Do you like lengthy books or short ones better? Lengthy books.  They’re very daunting before you start them, but once you finish, it’s much more satisfying.

Paperback or hardcover? Paperback for reading, hardback for looking good on my shelves B)

Favourite quotes:

“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view… Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.”    – Harper Lee, To Kill A Mockingbird

“I am haunted by humans” – Markus Zusak, The Book Thief
