A n s w e r s:
- eBooks or physical books?
Both. I prefer physical books but very often read eBooks.
- Paperback or hardback?
I love paperbacks because of their feel and hardbacks for showcasing haha.
- Online or in-store book shopping?
Depends on whether I want the book to be in my language or in English. I mostly shop online for books though.
- Trilogies or series?
I’ve got no answer for this one because it just depends on the book and if I feel it drags I won’t read it. If that made any sense.
- Heroes or villains?
Villains are more fun because of their psyche but both.
- A book you want everyone to read?
I will repeat myself a hundred times – ‘A Little Life’ by Hanya Yanagihara + ‘The Secret History’ by Donna Tartt
- Recommend an underrated book
I’ll put the recently read one – Even though it’s foreign and not English/American I feel like it should be read by more people: Nothing Holds Back the Night by Delphine de Vigan
- The last book you finished?
The Fact of a Body by Alexandria Marzano-Lesnevich.
- Weirdest thing you used as a bookmark?
Maybe like a phone or a pen but that’s not that weird?
- Used books, yes or no?
Yeah, sure! Love them!
- Top three favorite genres?
Definitely psychological thriller, mental health and adult fiction.
- Borrow or buy?
Buy but when short with money borrow.
- Characters or plot?
This is a tricky one because both make the story.. I have to say characters because I love a good character.
- Long or short book?
I consider a short book to be 380-400 pages so short books.
- Long or short chapters?
Short chapters are easier to read but if the story is good..
- Name the first three books you think of.
Based on a True Story by Delphine de Vigan,
The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides and
My Absolute Darling by Gabriel Tallent.
- Books that make you laugh or cry?
Again ‘A Little Life’ by Hanya Yanagihara and so many more…
- Our world of fictional worlds?
Being that our world is depressing and I have a pessimistic outlook on it I have to say I’d rather live in a fictional world (but not like a weird dystopian world because I wouldn’t survive haha).
- Audiobooks: yes or no?
Sure.
- Do you ever judge a book by its cover?
Yes and almost everyone does this. It’s just better if it’s visually appealing.
- Book to movie or book to TV adaptation?
Book to movie.
- A movie or TV adaptation you preferred to the book?
Nothing comes to mind at the moment.
- Series or standalone?
I always prefer standalone books because I hate the waiting or anything being unresolved. I also just generally like standalones.
Thanks so much to Inge for tagging me! I tag:
Anyone who wants to do the tag is welcome to tag themselves!
Thank you Nikola for doing this tag and the nice words! I’m backing you up on almost all of your answers. I really like your ‘showcasing hardbacks’ but loving the feel when reading paperbacks 😄. I should definitely check out your recommendation, never heard of A Little Life. I do have a Donna Tartt book but I’m scared the prose won’t be so easy to read for some reason…

Hey Inge! Thanks for tagging me three months ago haha 😀 I spoke the truth 🙂 I know, paperbacks are much easier to hold! *gasps* ‘A Little Life’ is one of the most devastating but brilliant book! Ah Donna Tartt is amazing – you can try a few chapters first? 🙂

I’ve got tags dating back even more ;-). That’s a good idea, I’m going to search for my Donna Tartt copy today and put it somewhere ‘on top’.

Great answers Nikola 🙂 I definitely agree with you about hating something being left unresolved whilst waiting for the next in the series! I tend to prefer a standalone for that reason too!

Hey Misti. Yeah, I left so many series because of the waiting and things being unresolved.. Thanks for taking the time to stop by and leave a comment!

It’s so brilliant! Such an amazing book! I just adored every single thing about it and it made me bawl like a baby! I love stories set in NY and it was also psychological which was a BIG plus! Thanks for stopping by!

Oh gosh… I better get the Kleenex ready so and lock myself into a bedroom for the weekend when I read this one 😀
I love it when books really touch on a deep level and it certainly has an air of big promise with it.

The last 150 pages or so of the book feel like you’ve been punched 10 times in the stomach! It’s a very tough book so don’t read it when you’re feeling low.. Yeah, the book deals with a lot of stuff and has many many hard things in it which are not for everyone.. So I understand why some people are avoiding it!

OK, that’s good to know, so thanks for the heads up… I don’t mind difficult reads but I sure do like to be prepared! I’ll defo pick a ‘neutral’ mood to read the book… can’t go ruing a good mood either (those babies don’t come along often!) hehehe… thanks! 😉 This has been very helpful!

Just keep on reading and reviewing books that you find interesting, interact with other book bloggers (all of them are so nice!) and go easy on the ARCs!
